Looking at the available serial databases, I'm unable to find any info regarding (BDUB###). Barrel date is 'AT', rather than the standard 3 letter.

Frame markings are 'Made in Austria, Glock INC, Smyrna, GA'. Why the lack of serial lookups for this letter range?

Is it simply due to lack of database updates for newer guns?. What's with the 2 vs 3 letter barrel markings, and how can the date be determined?.

The meaning of 'Made in Austria, Sym GA' - Does this mean parts made in Austria, assembled in US? Any info is appreciated, Thanks! Just send an email to Glock. They'll get back to you super quick with a month/year of manufacture.

AT on the barrel stands for Austria, it's not a date code. My USA-made G17 is stamped US there instead. AFAIK, the barrel date code isn't a thing on most US market Glocks, none of mine have it. There is a user-updated database of serial numbers and the associated DOM out there so you can at least get a rough estimate of what time range your Glock was made in, at least with the older ones.

AFAIK, the serial numbers are all sequential with the exception of some custom serial number ranges made for some LE agencies. Before I emailed Glock, I looked and estimated that my Gen2 was made somewhere between 1995 and 1996 and it turns out it was made in mid 1995.

If your frame says 'Made in Austria' and slide is marked 'Austria', it was imported as a unit from Austria. Smyrna is where Glock has their offices for North America and the markings on the pistols that read 'Glock, Inc., Smyrna, GA' are essentially the import markings that all imported guns are required to have.

I recently acquired a G17. It is said to be a Gen2. I am trying to decipher its build date and actual generation.

The first three numbers of the serial are 'ARM.' Anyone have any knowledge on this? The charts on GlockTalk are a bit confusing. According to my book published by ptooma productions 'The Complete Glock Reference Guide' 3rd edition.

That firearm was built 11/93. It is written on page 241 of the book. The dates on all models only go up to 1999. Thats good enough for me, I LOVE gen 1 and gen 2 GLOCKS!!!:drool5: Please tell me you have original matching serial number box with it? I am going to find this year a perfect gen. 1 and gen 2 Glock 17.

Good score homie!!!!:clap::clap. According to my book published by ptooma productions 'The Complete Glock Reference Guide' 3rd edition. That firearm was built 11/93. 1 and gen 2 Glock 17. Good score homie!!!!:clap::clap: Matching serial number box, original mags and manuals. Purchased from original owner and fired twice. It apparently did not fit his hand. I may just horde it and use my SD9VE as my 9mm. The thing is mint.

When a brotha sees this, all thoughts of a Gen3 evaporate. I can get that anytime. My father just dug out his old Gen. 1 Glock 17, and I'm curious about the date as well. He bout this, and then shortly after a Glock 17L, and ended up barely shooting the standard 17. The letters on the barrel are stamped next to what looks like a proof mark and say NTD, serial number is FG2XX US.

This thing is useless to me, and he doesn't have room in his safe anymore. Can anyone give me a rough production time (out of curiosity) and approximate value? Jerry.Edit. I believe the one my dad has is also called a 'pencil barrel' which I've never heard used to describe a Glock before either. My father just dug out his old Gen.

That's the old version which hasn't been updated in a few years. I moderate the current copy. I actually recommend the website I created for it instead as it has search, you can add your own guns yourself, and all that fancy web-ness.
